Flowers
Hanneke has a tendency to steal flowers. I pick them from my own garden. I was sitting at home trying to jot down some words on my thesis, when I saw a lone tulip on the lawn outside. It was bravely struggling its way through the ugly hedge between ours and our neighbor's yard. So I cut it off, with a single, euthanasic cut with my swiss army knife, and put it in a bottle that had previously contained an organic drink. Now it's enjoying its afterlife, drawing energy from the glare of my computer.
