IDEON

John and I went to Lund to visit the other John at his soon-to-be previous workplace at the IDEON incubator for techie-nerds. John and his little company is moving to an artsy-fartsy incubator in Malmö instead. John and I met John at the bus stop in Malmö on our way there, at about 1030. Apparently they don't start too early there. Luckily, we weren't there to see John at work, because in the guise of the night, someone had taken the props of the scene he calls reality, and moved them to the new set. John has owned several light sabres. He sees it as his duty to distribute light sabers - to diffuse them into the Swedish society. A light saber is probably a necessary gadget to fend off his star-trek/wars-convention coworker, who apparently have more authentic props stashed away.

We also went to see the Ericsson and Sony Ericsson site, which I suppose were just Ericsson before. They were at a crossroads, and I guess they chose right? You never know what's at the end of the tunnel. (An alternative reality, perhaps...)

There's a lot of interesting conversations with these two Johns, but sometimes it gets too much geeky software-talk, too 1337, too much early 80s American TV-shows, or just plain-ol' too weird ;) They also have a lot of cool business ideas, in which I don't see my role, as an engineer/STS'er. But hey, you never know.

I also got an email about a PhD program in Germany today. I contemplated on it for a few minutes, talked with Julia at CERN about scientific and technological projects in relation to ethics and STS, but it's too lame. And too poorly paid. And too in Germany.
