Don't cry over spilt tea.
I figure it's time for a little recap of my thesis work. I had visitors from Norway. Then I went to Norway for about ten days. And vacations don't make you more inspired to work. It's quite the opposite. John and Hanneke have declared themselves almost done, that is, John has devised some kind of fanciful theory of labour and time, and decided to put it all off for a little while. Meanwhile they have started some kind of study commuity to exchange their papers for evaluation, while I don't feel like I have anything to contribute with at this point. My thesis is like a night without stars, a beautiful (or ugly) woman without teeth, or a soldier without a gun. It's just an empty shell. And I need put something into it...
But to the more quantitative point, I'm making some progress. Qualitatively too, but that's naturally harder to measure. After the 17500 words plan, I'm currently on 81 %. Yay.
Progress is fuelled by caffeine, smoothies, Indian and Chinese food. Today I ventured into a relatively untapped source of caffeine, the Earl Gray Green Tea that we once got from the other John. I apparently don't have the same routine for this as for making coffee, so I ended up spilling most of it on the floor. I'm sorry. Such a waste. Someone probably hand picked that, and I dropped it on the floor, next to dust, hair, dead bugs and all kinds of crap. But I'm not crying over spilt tea. I have other worries.
