Notes from Sweden
Oscar and I went to the Green party's hive in Malmö to watch the counting of the votes. About a hundred people were gathered at the "Chocolate Factory" to watch SVT broadcast interviews with party leaders and stuff. It was kinda nice, although the exit polls kind of broke it to us early -- the moderates would win. The rest of the time was spent repeating the mantra that "it's too early to say, we haven't counted all yet". But still, it was like watching a suspense movie where some idiot that had just seen it revealed the end.
But the Green party did fairly well. Not a land-slide, but better than ever before, 5.1 %, and almost 7 % in Malmö, so the general mood was good, and the Pirate Party called and congratulated, as the Greens and the Pirates are buddies ;)
And we got food -- good food. Mostly vegetarian, since veggies are overrepresented in the Green party, I suppose. But Oscar and I went home when the dude that played the weird songs was done, and everyone had gotten their flowers, and Maria Wetterstrand (1) had been interviewed on TV, and the people we were talking with went home.
Coming home, the Sydsvenskan reported that Göran is stepping down and that Fredrik Reinfeldt (Fredrik i Fåreklær) will be Swedens new PM. I don't know if it were the definite news, or the food, or what it was, but I got a chocolate craving, and due to an already pretty free supply/demand based market econonomy in Sweden, the Arab dude downstairs was open, and willing to sell me some.

I suspect that he's taken some additional liberties though, as the chocolate has a distinctive "export" look to it. Anyways, we/they can look forward to four years with grades in school for younger kids, more police, tougher immigration policies, less bio fuel initiaties and more gadgets for everyone!
