Shanghai

We have made it to Shanghai. We ate dinner in the train -- they had an extencive selection of food, and the rather enigmatic choice of "western food". Shanghai is well tempered today, with little smog and a warm sun. We haven't made it downtown yet, we've just been staying on the west side at out hotel, and at John's grandma's place. She has a wonderful apartment with sliding cherry wood doors and chalk white walls and a huge flat screen TV.

Now we're on our way to the Bund, an old main street on the shore. Pics later maybe.
